Death Benefits

Life Insurance & Accidental Death Benefit

All active dues paying members in good standing with the IBEW Local 130
are eligible for these benefits

Life Insurance benefit: $10,000

Accidental Death benefit: up to an additional $10,000

Workplace Accidental Death Benefit: up to an additional $30,000

Dismemberment benefit: up to an additional amount as listed below:

  • Life = $10,000
  • Two hands = $10,000
  • Two feet = $10,000
  • Sight of two eyes = $10,000
  • One hand and one foot = $10,000
  • One hand and sight of one eye = $10,000
  • One foot and sight of one eye = $10,000
  • Quadriplegia = $10,000
  • Speech and hearing = $10,000
  • One hand OR one foot = $5,000
  • Paraplegia = $7,500
  • Sight of one eye = $5,000
  • Four or more fingers (one hand) = $5,000
  • Hemiplegia = $5,000 •
  • Speech OR hearing = $5,000
  • Thumb and index finger = $2,500

Internationl Office's Death Benefit

The International Office of the IBEW offers a Death Benefit to active and retired members of Local 130.

For Active dues paying members the normal death benefit paid to their beneficiary(s) is $6,250.00 for accidental death the death benefit for active dues paying members is $12,500.00.

Once you have retired from Local 130 your beneficiary(s) will receive $3,000.

An active dues paying member must have a minimum of six (6) months of continuous good standing to be eligible for the Death Benefit.

Any active dues paying member that is more than two (2) months in arrears will be ineligible, unless it can be demonstrated the arrearage was not the fault of the member per Article XI Sec. 6.a. of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Constitution. If no beneficiary is named, the death benefit is paid in the order of priority as defined in Article XI Sec. 4.b. of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Constitution.
